Linda Teo is a seasoned speaker, entrepreneur, trainer, and a trailblazer in the fashion and hospitality industries. Before becoming a people developer, she was the CEO of Carrie Models and founder of Carrie Academy International.

Linda’s career in fashion, modeling, and grooming began under the mentorship of Carrie Wong, the founder of Carrie Models. She played a key role in the agency, which provided models, talent, courses, and event planning.

In 1980, Linda took over Carrie Models, growing its talent roster from 20 to 350, with notable models like Ethel Fong, Hanis Hussey, Ivy, and Patricia Kraal, who worked with top European fashion houses. She also mentored local celebrities, including Fann Wong, Christopher Lee, and Kim Chan. Linda expanded Carrie Models’ reach to Asia, opening offices in Malaysia, Indonesia, Bangkok, and HongKong, and later expanding into Greater China by 1998.

TRAILBLAZING TRACK RECORD

Linda has achieved several “firsts” in the industry, some notable events include:

Co-organizing the first Gianni Versace fashion show in Jakarta, bringing in 25 top American models.

Launching the first ASEAN Model Search, where Carrie Models invited models from 7 Asian countries to compete for the title and contract opportunities as top Asian models.

Starting Carrie Models and Carrie Academy in Myanmar.

Organizing and collaborating with Elite Models, New York, for a worldwide modelling competition, working closely with Elite Models’ president John Casablancas and his team to identify models from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Singapore. This was a major success in Asia.

Carrie Models was the first agency to launch the Asian Models Search in 1993 to 1996, inviting models from 18 countries to Singapore to compete in the Asian Top Model Award. Carrie Models was also the first agency to organize this contest in Vietnam, Myanmar, and Laos (within Indo-China).

Linda is an active volunteer at the grassroots level under the South West CDC.
